Our Mission
I am a mom with two kids, raising the best quality food for my family and selling our surplus. I want to inspire people to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into their diets. Being part of a support group with health-oriented people is necessary in this "eat on the go" world and I am honored to be a plateau for others while giving them access to clean food.
What is Health?
Wouldn't it be nice if every time your car broke down, it would fix itself? That's what total health encompasses! Our body was made to heal itself and to live in a state of balance. In the case of an injury, our body knows exactly how to repair itself in the most efficient way. Only by supplying the body with the nutrients it needs and eliminating detrimental foods can the body live in optimal health.
The two underlying problems of disease are deficiency and toxicity. Unfortunately, the Standard American Diet, also known as the SAD diet, is mostly processed food, full of toxins and dead foods - the root cause of degenerative disease.
Health starts in the blood. Our blood transports nutrients within our body, but over-acidic blood creates an environment for pathogens and cell mutations to occur. Eating an alkaline diet of fruit and veggies will keep your body functioning at the right pH level. And guess what? Eating greens make the body more alkaline! (For more information read Dr. Young's pH Miracle, pH Miracle for Diabetes, or pH Miracle for Weight Loss)
We all know we should eat more fruit and veggies while limiting junk food, caffeine and sugar. But it's so hard to do when we are surrounded by unhealthy habits and processed foods. What is the #1 recommendation I could make to help you eat better? Make a Green Smoothie every morning!
Green Smoothies
What is the easiest and fastest way to get lots of fruit and veggies into your diet? Blend them up and drink them down in a Green Smoothie! When blended well, all the valuable nutrients in these fruits and veggies are divided into small particles so the body can easily assimilate the nutrients. Green Smoothies literally start getting absorbed in your mouth.
Why should you be drinking Green Smoothies? Because it is a complete food (with all the nutrients, enzymes and fiber), it is fresh, completely raw, and it takes less than a minute to prepare! We start our day with a Green Smoothie for breakfast, and no matter what the kids eat through the day, I know they've already ingested the most important nutrients their bodies need.
You would probably never consider sitting down and eating a whole bunch of raw kale in one sitting. But drinking it all down in a green smoothie is fast and easy! Humans are so busy nowadays, they gulp down their food without chewing each bite the recommended 30 times. Who has time for that?
Blending vs Juicing
Green Smoothies are easy to make and quick to clean up after. It is very time consuming to prepare food for a juicer and to clean up the equipment afterwards. More importantly, Green Smoothies are a complete food because they still have the fiber. Eating the whole food is very important.
Don't worry, Green Smoothies are great tasting...keep the recipe to 60% fruit and 40% greens (collards, kale, parsley, lettuce, edible weeds, etc) and the fruit taste will dominate the flavor, yet at the same time the greens balance out the sweetness of the fruit, adding a nice zest to it. My favorite recipe right now is 2 ripe mangos, 1 bunch of parsley and 3 cups of water.
By consuming two to three cups of Green Smoothies daily, you will consume enough greens for the day, knowing they will be well assimilated. Most people don't consume enough vegetables...not to mention eating enough greens. Greens are the most nutrient dense foods we can eat because of the amount of chlorophyll; plus, they contain the vitamin K that you can only find in greens. The molecule of chlorophyll has only one atom that makes it different from a molecule of human blood. And drinking chlorophyll is likened to receiving a healthy blood transfusion!
So start supplementing your diet with a Green Smoothie every day. You'll be amazed at how good your body will feel, and you'll be happier knowing you are getting all those nutrients you need.

Other Tips
One of the major changes I have tried to institute with our habits is to eat with the season. If you are eating broccoli in the summer, you know it has probably been shipped in from California. We can't grow broccoli in Texas during the summer. Likewise, if you are eating tomatoes in the winter, you know it has been shipped in from Mexico or grown artificially in a hydroponic hothouse instead of soil.
God created seasons for a reason. Veggies grow in each season to support what the body needs throughout the changing climate. During the summer, the body needs water. So we have tomatoes, cucumbers, and melons in abundance. During winter, we need more nutrients to battle the cold, so we have lots of cabbages, greens, and broccoli growing.
Also important to your health is getting an hour of sunlight each day and an hour of exercise. One of the best forms of exercise is jumping on a trampoline. The up and down motion stimulates the lymph glands.
